Friends Birthday!

Two of my wonderful friends are celebrating their birthday soon. I made these cards for them. I love this technique ... " Torn paper image". Stamps the same image on 3 different color of paper ... tear the papers and align so it will complete the image. It's like a puzzle... I embellished with Rhine stones, ribbon, paper flowers and text on the right. The text is beautiful... It says something like " The most beautiful flower loses its beauty... but a true friend last for eternity" (my translation)!!!

For this one I have been having fun playing with my Cuttlebug... I love those embossing borders... it allows lots of creativity!

Getting ready for New Year art resolutions...!

What will be yours??? For me, I'm thinking seriously about it ... I would like to have a chance to play more with all the wonderful techniques I have access to on Technique Junkies... I found it so frustrating this past year not to have time to play and try more of those. So I guess that this year this will be one of the resolutions that I will keep... PLAY!!! We will be leaving for 3 months in Naples Florida after Christmas... I will bring some of my stuff and will take some time to look into those little treasures found on TJ... and of course try some. I will try to publish my work on my blog... but with no scanner ... I will take photos but I always have a hard time getting go pic of my cards... maybe with practice it will be better. Anyway if you fell like letting me know what you art resolution will be go ahead just leave a comment ... I'd love to read what you are up to!

Mission accomplie....!

Oufffff... all done! Hello my friends, last week I finished making my Christmas cards! I must say that I'm happy about it. I was looking forward to do other themes... LOL! So here are my last cards. A technique for TJ "Alcohol ink smoosh" . I also added a cuttlebug layer in the background.

Simple but so much fun to do ... woven ribbons in a Christmas ornament...!

Another TJ technique and this one I love to do.... " Cuttlebug Glow " done on acetate using Lumière Paint and different colors of ink.

Very soft colors of " Alcohol ink smoosh" used for this one. Background stamping in clear embossing powder.

So this is it for this year's Christmas cards... I had fun doing those and will continue with more cards in the up coming year. Hope you enjoy your visit!

Christmas Cards .... Encore!!!

Hello my friends Can you believe we just have 30 days till Christmas...!!! Thanks God I'm almost done with my Christmas cards and even start mailing some today....! Now have a look to my latest cards! GLOWING ORNAMENTS Cuttlebug Acetate glow, from TJ oct/nov 2007. I'm just crazy about this technique! ANGEL OF CHRISTMAS This angel has been stamped on a alcohol ink smoosh backgrounds using 2 shades of blues and metallic silver mixatives.

FUNKY CHRISTMAS TREE Simple stamping and embossing ... but what a nice stamp! Lots of Stickles and Liquid pearls. The ribbon is not crocked... it's the scan's fault...! Well maybe I didn't set it wright on the glass plate....!!! VISITORS Again, I love this stamp for it's simple but peaceful rendering... Straight stamping, embossing and again Stickles!

OUT OF THE BOX CHRISTMAS TREE! This is another stamp I love working with ... it's so different and can be used according to your occasion... Ribbon, stamping, embossing, Stickles and Liquid Pearls.... Voilà!!! SANTA'S HAT! No need to ask ... this one is for my baby granddaughter Mathilde...!!! This cute little mouse is wearing Santa's hat... It doesn't show but the hat is all glittered and Liquid souflé has been used for the fur around the hat. The mouse was done with Tombow watercolors markers.

Now back to work finishing my last cards and creating more for friends and family...!!! Thanks for your visit.

It's the time of the season...

Hello! Yes believe it or not we have six weeks till Christmas! I love this period of the year...!!! If we just can have a bit of snow all will be purrrrfect!!! I enjoy making Christmas cards for my family, my friends and for exchanges too. I already posted some Christmas cards, here are a few more and there is more to come... I'm kind of productive at this time of year...LOL! I try hard to make different cards with different techniques, stamps and size. I also try to stay away from traditional colors, I like to try different combinations of colors, textures.

"T'IS THE SEASON"

Cuttlebug background and main image all was embossed in white and colored with chalk inks and of course glitter. A ribbon, and a cuttlebug tag stamped and embossed with glitter embossing powder " T'is the season".

"WE WISH YOU ..."

I love this stamp. Background was done with my brayer and rainbow dye inkpad, Silver Mica Magic was applied to draw out the details of the stamp. The main layer (blue) was stamped and embossed in clear with a Holly branch stamp from Penny Black.

"JOYEUX NOËL"

What can be more French than Paris...? Same technique as above with this beautiful French stamp of the Effiel Tower. Main background layer is a cuttlebug highlighted with gold ink.

"THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS"

I was inspired by "Vada Schutz " of TC she did such a beautiful card ... I wanted to try it too. No special technique involved just basic stamping. Alcohol inks background, I printed my design on Acetate and embossed with black (my design was built from various clip art elements I had), image placed on front. Tree behind the church was hand scketched. Stamped trees at the bottom from Rubber Stampede and wording from Inkadinkado. Highlighted with white Liquid Appliqué. The first layer was embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss dots and round nestabilities used to cut out main design and window.

I better get back to work if I want to finish all my cards before Christmas is over....LOL!

Cuttlebug Christmas Tree. This card has been done with golden foil paper so the picture didn't come out well. Sorry...!

Here I've been mostly playing with my Nestabilities... trying to figure out how to make them work with my Cuttlebug... finaly I cracked up the secret ... so now I'm happy! LOL!

The last one but not the least... a birthday card for a dear friend. Background cuttlebug glow. Stamp from Penny Black.

House mingle

This was fun to do!!! The idea came from Quietfire newsletter and I thought it would be fun and different to make ATC in a house shape...! IS THIS HOME Background is from Technique Junkies' tutorial " Cling and Scrunch " done with water colors spray. Stamps "french phrases" and "Quietfire flourish" in brown. Vintage image, phrases done on my comptuter attached with gold eyelets, add a golden heart and a little peel off and you have "Is this home"! GOLDEN Background done with drop of watercolor ink on craft sheet. Geisha stamp from Zia stamps, a few asian coins and asian word plus fushia peel off border all around the "asian house". HAPPY Adirondack inks applied with Ink blender, stamp from Tim Holtz and diamond stamp applied randomly in meadow... Paper flower border inked same as background. Color matching paper flowers. Doesn't she look "Happy"....? Now sending to my partner, I just hope they are as "Happy" when mail comes in!!!

Butterfly wishes...

I love stamping butterflies... this card is a friend's birthday card. Stamp is Magenta and I used the poucing tech to add color to it. I finished it with a spray of Bronze Shimmering Mist.

Having fun with Alcohol inks...

Hello my friends!

I recently participated in a workshop given by Magenta! Nathalie Métivier demonstrated a few techniques to work with alcohol inks.... I was already in love with those little bottles....so I spent some time playing!

I went along with tip and tricks from Nathalie and tried my own mixtures...!

PINK & BLUE FLOURISH

Alcohol inks on white Kromecote paper, stamps from Killer Design, Memory glass on the right stamped and colored with alcohol ink.

SEA FLOURISH

Same as above but corner element is plexi glass.

FLAMING TREE

Papers from Magenta, stamp on Alcohol ink background is from Crafty individuals.

LITTLE BEAUTIES

Seersucker exchange finished.

Hello my dear reader. I just finished another exchange I subscribed to. This one was very particular for me since it was the first time I did this effect... it's called " Seersucker technique" and it fun and easy to do. The seersucker effect is done by running you final design through your crimpler horizontally and vertically... for a change the one named Leaves I did the oblique way which creates a crooked illusion ... but it's just an illusion....!!!

LEAVES

The background of this card was done with Mica Magic re-inkers... I love working with these. I added bead to the side of the card to add a little something different!

Hidden words

Hidden Words was done with the Rainbow ink pad and brayered, stamped and inserted to punched card stock... Square brads complete the design.

This image was initially done as an experiment of inking with rainbow pad and brayer... it turned out pretty nice ... I added some Mica Magic to the surface of the design to pull out area that had no ink on since I stamped before inking... !

This whole Seersucker project was a lots of fun and I hope my partners will be pleased with their card. I have learned that it's not all image that can be used with this technique... and it's always fun to learn something new!
